This book and its exercise cards will take you through a condensed creative journey – it's a process that is common to artists and innovators alike. Each chapter also draws on insights from a wide range of fields to help you widen what you notice and imagine and then to provide ways of landing new ideas!

Creative work is unlocked through play, which is achieved by moving into a mindset that isn't constrained by the parameters of everyday time and space. Creativity is nurtured through finding our 'flow' and honing fitness through habits of awareness and practice.

Communication is a wonderful and varied evolutionary adaptation that acts as a conduit for our exchanges. There are lots of tricks we can use to enrich how we ‘do’ communication, make new connections and perceive anew.

Stories are one of the most remarkable aptitudes humans have in their creative suite. Stories are embellished and conveyed through the many mediums. Stories harness imagination and help us make sense together.

The seeds for this book have been born of a creative root system where creative methods and practices have been formed, reformed and passed on over time. In conceiving this book, the TD School at UTS (Transdisciplinary School, University of Technology Sydney) is one such incubator and catalyser.
